divine mission

Jesus proclaimed and carried out his earthly purpose, but his mission remains unfulfilled in us.

Why so?

We go about our daily lives unaware of our need for grace, while grace itself abounds.

We do all we can to ensure we are not temporally impoverished, but we remain spiritually poor. We pursue happiness and freedom while remaining enslaved by fear. We hang on to our beliefs but remain blind to truth.

Grace is freely and lovingly given, but it remains empty until we accept and allow it to flourish in us and in our life.

A prayer of surrender helps open us to the door of salvation: "Father, may your love and desire for all through Jesus be fulfilled in me."

Jesus declared his earthly mission in Luke 4:18-21 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come...The Scripture you’ve just heard has been fulfilled this very day!"
