When John wrote his epistles, love was the main thing he wanted to write about; it was the main thing he wanted the church to understand because it’s the most important part of our relationship to God.
God intended His heart, from the beginning, to draw us into a relationship with Him. The way we see God has everything to do with how we approach Him, how we relate to Him. God loves us as a father loves His own son. He has given us the spirit of adoption by which we call Him, “Abba, father!”
1 John 4:16 "And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them."
