We learn how to be loving when we meet a loving person. When we relate with really mindful, happy, and free persons, we become more like them because we’ll be satisfied with nothing less. Our faith grows through and by the quality of our relationships.
In meditation, in contemplative prayer, we experience that quality of relationship with God. In that place we're free to be as we are; we know we’re not being judged, we’re not being evaluated. It’s the place of ultimate freedom. By spending time in this kind of prayer each day, we become a reflection of our experience with the Spirit, our teacher. Simply put, God rubs off on us.
Through prayer, we become more and more as God intended us - free-er.
Romans 8:16-17 "For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory."
