being loved

Our greatest need, purpose, and fulfillment is love.

The greatest commandment is to love God and the second is to love others as we love ourselves.

However, love for God and others has a prerequisite - self-love. We don’t have anything to offer unless we take care of our self first. And if we haven’t learned how to love our self, we can’t really love anyone else.

In order for us to grow in love for self, we need to be in complete openness and surrender - we need to let our self be loved. Only then will the fruit of the Spirit manifest in us and our life.

Galatians 5:22-23 "But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!"
