Some spiritual traditions see the body as the seat of worldly desire and must be trained and brought into submission. What they miss, however, is that the body also carries unique perceptive gifts, especially the capacity to understand the language of faith in sacred gestures.
It’s amazing to realize that our most profound life lessons are among our experiences and memories. Learning to ride a bicycle, we came to know something about interior balance, becoming familiar with something from the inside out. Learning to float in water, we discovered that trust means relaxing and letting something else hold us up. Ecstatic lovemaking taught us not to be afraid of dissolving into oneness. Spiritual transformation is inherently wired within our bodies.
When our body is resurrected and our soul is transformed into love completely shall we then live the fullness of life eternal – when we finally dissolve into the bliss of oneness.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.”
