On special occasions, we celebrate with the best we have: fine dinnerware, special food, special clothes, and so on.
We have a tendency to save things for the best all the time – saving them for the day when we will use and enjoy them.
Having things that we love around our home is one of the pleasures of life, but saving them for the best only is one of the few mistakes we make to some extent.
Using the special things more often doesn’t make them less special. They make everyday life in all its craziness easier to bear, because, after all, life and every day are not about things, life is about us.
To rejoice is to be very happy, be delighted, to feel joy. To extol and honor the source and reason for rejoicing is celebration.
Psalm 118:24 "This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it."
