constant prayer

Prayer brings our thinking down into our hearts, much as is portrayed in the imagery of Jesus pointing to his “Sacred Heart” and Mary pointing to her “Immaculate Heart.” Love lives and thrives within the heart.

If we learn to pray this way, we would see how calmly and quickly it works. Whenever resentment, negativity, or irritation comes into our mind, and we have the urge to play it out or attach to it, we can move that thought or person literally into our heart space. Judgmental thinking is lodged in our head; but in our heart, we can surround this negative thought with peace and silence.

In this place, it is almost impossible to comment, judge, create storylines, or remain antagonistic. It is a place that does not create or feed on contraries but is the natural organ of life, embodiment, and love.

This way, the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart are transferred to us. They point for us to join them there. The “sacred heart,” then, becomes our heart too.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
