The transformed mind allows us to step back from our own personal processor so we can be more honest about what is really happening to us. If we do not detach, we are too attached to our self.
It’s not so much about what comes at us; it’s what we do with it. The shortcoming of organized religions is that they tend to tell people what to see instead of teaching them how to see.
Transformation begins when we “think” and “feel” differently about most things. Our motivation foundationally changes from security, status, and judgment to generosity, humility, and cooperation.
From a religious perspective, a conversion experience is an experience of an Absolute. And once you’ve experienced a True Absolute, everything else is relativized, including our self!
2 Corinthians 3:18 "So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image."
