deeply rooted

It is necessary that we understand money spiritually. Religion has used commercial terms such as gaining heaven, acquiring merit, earning salvation, and Jesus “paying the debt” for our sins. Conversely, commerce has used religious terms: we purchase bonds and trusts, enter into covenants, forgive debts, are granted grace periods for repayment, enjoy indemnity, and reconcile accounts!

If we fail to see money spiritually religion is “sold out.” Without a spiritual perspective, the ego is unnecessarily enthroned and we will only know how to count, weigh, measure, dole out, judge, label, earn, expel, and compete. No wonder our faith became transactional instead of transformational, calculating instead of consoling.

By understanding that money and spirituality complement one another, we would be able to enjoy our abundance in a deep, fulfilling way. Spiritual life is synonymous with abundant life. It is, therefore, necessary to realize our inherent abundance from within.

Jesus underscored the importance of balance. His warning was directed toward a death-bound loyalty and dependence on worldliness, and not to fend it off completely (1 John 2:15). He even encouraged us to be good stewards of provisions, gifts, and grace (Luke 16:1-15.)

Malachi 3:10 Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this,” says the LORD of Hosts. “See if I will not open the windows of heaven and pour out for you blessing without measure.
