Human love is entrenched in the fulfillment of desires. It is possessive and is directed toward the object of human infatuation.
Human love won’t bring us anywhere. We won’t make any real progress. The promise of loving forever can never be, for feelings are fleeting, memories are deceiving, and vows unreliable.
Divine love, however, is realized when we’ve become one with the very stream of love, with the source of universal life.
Can we love a person in a Divine way? Yes, when we give total freedom. When we expect nothing in return. When we do, we won’t ever feel disappointed, angry, betrayed, sad, or hurt in any way.
When we love another with divine love, it is all-encompassing, it has not end, for by then we are loving God in them.
1 John 4:16 "We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them."
