Religious instruction is not the goal, love is. Religious education is the means. It is of truth, but it is subordinate; for truth serves love.
Religious education serves relationships - mainly the relationship between us and God, but also between us and others. The "goal" of all religious truth is love.
1 Timothy 1:5 "The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith."
