The love in us is the Spirit in us that always says yes (2 Corinthians 1:19-20). Love is not something we do; love is someone we are. It is our True Self. Love is where we came from and love is where we are going. It is not something we can attain or work up to, but something we allow our self to fall into! It is the living presence of God within us, the Holy Spirit.
Like prayer, love is not an act, but a dialogue that flows within and through us. Actually, to love is to allow our deepest and truest nature to show itself.
Fatherhood is the flow of love from Father to Son. The Son does not occasionally release some love to the Father, it is the Spirit between them. Love is the constancy of all three!
For us, earthly fathers, fatherhood is yielding to and being the channel for God who seeks out the deepest possible communion with His children.
1 John 3:1 “See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!”
