Complaining and thanklessness are not our responses to circumstances, but to God.
A heart of gratitude and thankfulness isn’t dependent on the weather, what we do or do not have, or the praise we receive for a job well done. Thanklessness and complaining — regardless of our situation — reflect our heart.
Spiritual amnesia threatens our faith and our joy more than anything. It penetrates to the core and corrupts our heart.
The antidote to spiritual amnesia is making every effort to be constantly aware of God’s graciousness and love. Let this awareness maintain our joy in God and a deep sense of gratitude that God loves us, knows us, and keeps us.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 "Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus."
