fountainhead

Our deep awareness of God’s grace results in profound gratitude. Both “gratitude” and “grace” come from the same Latin root word, “gratia,” which means unmerited favor.

Because we can neither earn nor pay back the gift, our heart overflows with gratitude. The power of that emotion transforms the way we see the world and experience life. Grace begets gratitude, which, in turn, widens our hearts toward greater goodness and love.

Grace reminds us that every good thing is a gift; the rising of the sun to our being alive are daily offerings to us. This is an infinite process of awareness and responsive action. It is not a closed circle of exchange; it is more like the circles that naturally ripple across a pond when a pebble is tossed into the water.

The symbiosis of deep grace and gratitude produces in us the desire to share what we receive; such is the magic of love, the fountainhead of grace and gratitude.

2 Corinthians 9:8 “And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.”
