Each moment is a choice. No matter how distressing our experience is, we can always choose how we respond.
The choice to accept our self as we are: human and imperfect. The choice to be responsible for our own happiness. To forgive our flaws and reclaim our innocence. To do everything possible to redeem our self from the past, and then let it go.
We can’t change the past, but there is a life we can save, the one we are living right now, this precious moment.
We were hurt but not broken, that our soul never dies, that meaning and purpose can come from deep in the heart of what hurt us the most. To bid the past goodbye, thank and accept life as it is.
We may not change the reality of the past, but we can be free and regain our happiness by forgiving our self.
Ultimately, the channel of God's forgiving grace is the self that can never be separated from Him.
Psalm 103:10-11 "He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear him."
