God’s truth and our own True Self is Love. But, why does this seem hidden, and how do we find it? As James Finley, clinical psychologist and Christian author, says, “The greatest teacher of God’s presence in our life is our life.”
Living and accepting our reality may be unspiritual, but our lives fully experienced, suffered, and enjoyed, lead us back to the center and the essence, leading us back to love.
We collapse back into Truth only when we are spiritually naked and free. We will not really know what it means to be human unless we know God. Alternately, we will not really know God except through our own bare humanity.
In Jesus, God tells us that God is not different from humanity. Jesus uses the term “son of man” seventy-nine times in the four Gospels.
We are not human beings on a journey toward Spirit, we are already spiritual beings on a journey toward becoming fully human, which for some reason seems harder precisely because it is so ordinary.
1 John 4:12 “God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.”
