If we have never let anyone love us, if we have never let love flow through us, there is no way we could possibly know who God is.
In contemplation, we take a long loving look at the real. The world, our own issues and hurts, all goals and desires gradually dissolve and God becomes obvious and everywhere.
When we get ourselves out of the way and let go of illusions and preoccupations, the soul stands revealed and God’s “I AM” is continued in us. We dissolve and become one with the flow of God’s love.
This is when we would know God experientially. At this point, we become incorruptible, because then we find the peace that the world cannot give. We not only know God personally and intimately, but we also start living the life He promised, for by then, God is fully alive in us.
1 John 4:16 “God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.”
