We are the image and likeness of God, but without God, we are absolutely nothing. In being God’s image, we owe no fidelity to anything but the Infinite Love in whose image we are made.
Our DNA is divine. It is never earned by any behavior, group membership, or ritual, but simply acknowledged, realized, and fallen in love with. When we are ready, we will be overwhelmed by the boundless mystery of our own humanity. We will know that we stand beneath the same flow of mercy and grace as everybody else.
Nothing can change the promise of Scriptures – that we are objectively and inherently children of God. When this God-given image becomes our operative self-image, we will have fallen in and be completely integrated with love, with God – we are home free!
1 John 3:2 “We are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is.”
