A belief is an attitude that something is the case, or that some proposition about the world is true. In epistemology, philosophers use the term "belief" to refer to attitudes about the world which can be either true or false.
Challenging beliefs is not a rejection but a purification, an exercise in awakening to life-giving truth. As with love, if what we believe cannot be challenged, it most likely is not truly life-giving or true at all.
It is worthwhile to examine ourselves in relation to our beliefs. Do they make us grow in love and virtue? Do they help us deepen in compassion and understanding? Do they take us to our highest good and a life of abundance?
Ultimately, challenging belief is an exercise in self-discovery.
Matthew 6: 21 "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
