Humility is not something we bring to God nor is it something God gives to us. It is the realization that we are nothing. It is the emptying of our hearts so that He can be everything for us. This realization is the only noble thing we can ever really think or do. With our wills, minds, and emotions, to become empty vessels that God can fill with His life and glory.
We then realize that humility is simply acknowledging the truth about who we are and yielding to God His rightful place.
Christ is the humility of God embodied in human nature: Eternal Love humbling itself, clothing itself in the garb of meekness and gentleness, to win and serve and save us.
Philippians 2:6-8 "Though he was God, He did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, He gave up His divine privileges; He took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When He appeared in human form, He humbled Himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross."
