I, Me, Mine

Mankind has always been, as the Greeks would call anthropomorphic - morphing into, or taking the form of, an Anthropos (human).

The tragedy today is that we have brought God down from His throne to our human level. We think He acts and reacts as men do, and we are tempted to have human reactions toward Him.

Tragically, once we humanize God we start to deify man, because man is idolatrous by nature and has to worship something.

But why?

Albert Einstein once declared “Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.”

Our experiences shape our perception of the world, and our ego holds on tightly to these perceptions.

It is extremely important, therefore, to regularly challenge what we think and believe. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we can expect that our perceptions would be illumined by God's light and truth.

Jeremiah 17:9 “The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?"

Romans 1:25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
