Countless times, in matters about God, we are exhorted to be still. This is so because we are accustomed to looking and being directed by matters outside of us thereby living a dream, an illusion. The urge to be silent is a counsel to look within and awaken.
This is the divine wisdom in holy scripture: "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me."
