We live a life of conflict within us and requires us to overcome our fallen nature. This is also a fruitful life, not because of anything we do, and is also a victorious life in the Spirit.
Our sanctification is by faith. We are not just told to do the right things now that we are Christians. Not only is our justification and our decision to receive Jesus Christ as our savior are by faith, but our transformation into Christ-likeness, our keeping in step with the Spirit is also by faith in Christ. Only then can we be fruitful and live a life of abundance.
Galatians 5:23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law."
