living through us

The knowledge of God is participatory. It is a very different way of knowing reality and should be the unique, boundless gift of people of faith.

Divine knowing or spiritual intuition is actually an allowing of “someone else” to know in us, through us, for us, and even as us. It demands something like an “identity transplant” – “it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20).

God can never be seen and understood objectively, only subjectively by us becoming one with the Source. Some of us call this nondual consciousness or contemplative knowing. To begin to understand Trinity or even our deepest self, we must move beyond the dualistic thinking of judging to experience things.

This is prayer in its purest sense; when, eventually, love and knowledge become the same thing.

1 John 4:12 “No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.”
