Our ego loves being right.
The need to be right keeps us looking for evidence to prove other people wrong rather than accepting life’s imperfections. This resistance to being wrong makes us focus only on identifying information that confirms our beliefs.
We fear being wrong and believe that if we are wrong there’s something wrong with us and we stop trying to understand other people’s points of view. With this we pay the high price of being unkind, impatient, and insensitive - we forget to be human.
Our soul, the measure of God in us, has no need to be right, its need is to love.
Galatians 5:22 "The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.."
