Only love can move across boundaries and cultures. Love is a very real energy, a spiritual life force powerful beyond imagination. Love is endlessly alive, constantly flowing downward, and thus life-giving for all, exactly like water.
When we die, we are precisely the capacity we have developed to give and to receive love. Our recognition of this is our own “final judgment” which means we become responsible for what we now see, not shamed or rewarded, just deeply responsible.
If we have not received or will not give the gift of love, our soul remains tied to a small, empty world, which is probably what we mean by hell. God can only give love to those who want it.
If we are already at home in love, we will easily and quickly go to the home of love – to heaven.
Every day, and in every way, we must decide and choose to live in love. To decide and choose to learn the ever-deeper ways of love, which is the unearned grace that follows the decision to love.
1 John 4:16 “We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.”
