The Biblical exodus is an archetype for the struggle from slavery to freedom, and for the spiritual journey as well. The story symbolically describes our own experience of liberation by God; both an outer freedom and an inner freedom, otherwise, it is not real liberation.
Meaning “the way out,” our exodus starts when we awaken from a life of illusions and the inspiration to journey towards a life abounding in prosperity, freedom, truth, and happiness.
Over the course of the exodus story, we see that Moses slowly imbibed the daring freedom God provided. Despite his failings, weaknesses, and limitations Moses perceived in himself, he was liberated by God’s faith in him.
Ultimately, our very own spiritual journey is driven by God’s faith in us.
Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for He has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free.”
