Jesus refers to the meek and the poor in spirit as being blessed. These are states of consciousness where we set aside our personal ego and allow the will of the Spirit to come through. It’s exemplified by “God’s will be done;” giving way to the higher calling.
Meekness is faith in the divine and faith of the divine in order to allow God to work through us.
Today, we see many proclaiming their faith in Jesus as savior but not setting aside personal agendas to practice the love, compassion, caring, and kindness that Jesus modeled. We must be meek; we must be open to God’s true will.
Matthew 5:5 "Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth."
