Growing in faith is spiritual. We will be pruned of whatever inhibits our headway.

Pruning is painful and understanding pain's purpose helps us learn to find delight in God's promise that there is a purpose in all pain. His promise helps us see the glory beyond the suffering.

John 15:2 "He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more."
