We encounter and become one with God only in stillness, in silence, in peace. This is so because God's nature is calm and serenity. This is why we were told that we would know Him only in stillness.
We not only wish someone good but the presence of God whenever we say "peace be with you." Moreso, all God-sent provisions, blessings, and grace freely come to us when we are at peace with all and within us, especially in our thoughts.
John 14 verse 27 relates the final discourse of Jesus bestowing upon his disciples this most special gift and truth.
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
