The list of beatitudes is a call for us to join a radical kingdom. It provides us with a vision of our tomorrow to match, that the kingdom of heaven infiltrates our present.
The promise of future vindication does not mean that the focus is entirely future. The promise brings assurance into the present. We are given eyes to see that the future is certain and this transforms the present.
