The etymology of the word person is per/son, every child. Being a person underscores our individuality.

However, our destiny is much more than a person, an individual enjoying full abundance. It is not acquisition, but transformation. In the same manner that becoming full of all the information in the world does not accumulate into wisdom. Nothing new—no perspective, no experience, nor even love can come to us when we are full of ourselves, our agendas, and our own points of view.

Self-emptying is indispensable to any expression of authentic spirituality. The only way we could empty ourself is to love.

It is only through love that we are transformed from God's child into God's presence, our glorious destiny.
