politics

The political noise inundating us today is of collective negativity, tension, and prejudice. This collective outward behavior is indicative of problematic inner attitudes and states.

The tragic fascism of Nazi Germany was fomenting in people’s hearts long before Hitler came to catalyze their hate and resentment. Now it seems we are seeing shadows of the same.

Our faith tells us that it is sinful to harbor hateful anger or call people names even in our hearts. Sin is more a state of separation and superiority than any concrete action. How we live in our hearts is our real truth.

1 Corinthians 13:5 "Love is patient and kind. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs."
