potter and clay

Being still in meditation is to be as clay to the potter, allowing God to mold us as He pleases.

We do not learn about God through silent observation, but by experiencing His love in complete abandonment and surrender. Such is true love, a complete and total giving of our self.

We do not speak to break our silence, but to soothe our anxiety to be heard. It is common for people to use words to silence others, but the one who loves speaks only in order to be spoken to.

We seek solitude as an expression of the total gift of our self to God.

Isaiah 64:8 "O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We all are formed by your hand."
