resurrection

“When I act against my own will,

then it is not my true self doing it,

but sin which lives in me”

- Romans 7:20

Paul knew that the soul, the true self, was steadfast and faithful to its God-given and loving nature. He contrasted the soul with the false self which he called it “sin”

It is the false sinful self that is terrified of death because it believes it is fragile, has no permanence, but only various forms of immediate gratification.

Our True Self is not afraid of death. It knows that it will never lose anything real by dying. That death is the end of all that is false and of sin. The end of human life is a return to our eternal truth, to God, to Love. Life doesn’t truly end; it simply changes form and continues evolving into ever new shapes and beauty.
