Jesus deeply respected and lived his reality fully and completely. Learning to extend this kind of esteem to reality that is revealed to us is how we encounter God. The holy rests in every single thing.
This is also what it means to embrace meditation, a spiritual way of seeing. It provides a window into the complexity and keeps us from judging, scapegoating, and demonizing. Ordinary things and moments become epiphanies of God’s presence.
God invites us to inhabit the fullness of our humanity. The holy is not just found in the supernatural but in the Incarnational present as well. The truth is that sacraments are happening all the time and contemplation brings out in us the eyes to see.
Matthew 5:8 “God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.”
