seeing with love

Our reality is shaped by our perception, how we see all of existence. Just like wearing glasses, it is only when we take them off do we realize how much our capacity to see is oriented by the lens through which we are seeing.

Our outlook, our metaphysics, is the specific lens through which we perceive reality. These are outlooks we have grown accustomed to that we need to update, and the new lens through which we must see reality is the Trinity.

When we look at the Trinity from a metaphysical standpoint rather than from a theological standpoint, it is not so much about persons in the Trinity, as it is about their relationship by which all creation is constructed and maintained.

Our outlook has been conditioned in a binary way: working on the principle of paired, equal opposites that are somehow held in balance: male/female, dark/light, conscious/unconscious, good/evil, action/being. Our dualistic outlook keeps us resolving matters in differences and judgment.

By changing our metaphysics with the lens of the Trinity, however, we begin to see complements and relationships instead of static, unchanging differences. When we do not see relationships and complements, we go in search of them. By doing so, we cease being trapped in the enchantment of the world.

This is abundant living. Where even the way we think and perceive is enriched.

2 Corinthians 4:4 “Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.”
