Sentience, being fully alive, means agreeing to be taken, to be vulnerable, affected, to uncover, to reflect, to be present and see what happens, allowing the breath of unawareness to be taken, desiring to see what is and is not there.
Sentience is the wonder of the child that the New Testament compels us to return to. To once again allow ourselves to depend on something greater than ourselves, to accept what the moment gives and respond to it.
In truth, this is the beginning of an actual relationship with God; this is the very essence of spirituality.
Matthew 18:3 “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."
