Being bound by the illusion of separation we do all we can to regain God's favor, to win our "salvation." This is our condition while asleep; we struggle our way through our imagined desolation and autonomy from God.
Our fallen, pride-ridden false self shudders at the thought of its oneness with God. Only a part of our soul in slumber recognizes the whole from which it originated.
Christ's sacrificial death has purchased our salvation and all we need do is awaken, receive and be in flow with our ultimate truth and life - God Himself.
Acts 17:28 "For in him we live and move and exist."
