Jesus spoke about our words, especially idle ones, yet his warning often goes unheeded.
Idle words are things we say carelessly, without concern for their power. Almost instantly, we assume that the errors of our tongue are minor transgressions that God will overlook. Yet Jesus was fully aware of the devastating and creative nature of our words.
Speaking negatively is spiritually costly, while being deliberate with what we say carries spiritual and creative power.
Our speech reveals who we are and, at the same time, creates our reality.
Isaiah 55:11 "It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it."
