The secret to giving all to God while balancing the world’s demands is presence. In conversation with God, we witness love in action, and with the Spirit’s guidance, we can prioritize and navigate the world He has put us in.
The incredible thing is, when we live in an intimate relationship with God and work to imitate Jesus, then giving all, including loving our neighbor like ourselves, becomes seamless.
If we truly believe God is who He says He is, then we also believe He deserves the highest place in our heart, mind, and soul. If we give Him all, we will naturally love our neighbor; we’ll see them with the eyes of God, recognizing they too are made in His likeness and image; wonderfully and fearfully made.
Matthew 22:37-40 "Jesus replied, ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.'”
