Loving one another reveals two realities in our lives; God abides in us and His love is brought to completion in us.
In his first epistle, John makes the important point that we have the assurance that God has made the Holy Spirit indwell our lives. The presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives is the means of growing in holiness, for nothing sanctifies but the loving presence of God in us. Our conduct towards others is commensurate with God’s character.
1 John 4:12-13 "No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in Him and He in us."
