In its most basic sense, FACTS are the inarguable truths of our physical world - the material surroundings which we detect via our senses. VALUES, on the other hand, are not accessible via the senses; they can only be derived through our subjective reasoning about ethics and morals.
Values are whatever is intrinsically good. Hedonists say it is pleasure; Pragmatists, satisfaction, growth, or adjustment; Kantians, a good will; Humanists, harmonious self-realization; and Christians, the love of God.
